Child Safety Standards
Last updated: 17 October 2026
Spontaza is an app for friends to plan and meet up. It is not for children, and we do not tolerate child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) of any kind. This page sets out our standards, how to report a concern, and what we do about it. It sits alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
1. Zero tolerance
We prohibit any content or behaviour that sexually exploits, abuses or endangers children. This includes, but isn't limited to:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) of any kind, including drawn, edited or AI-generated images.
- Sexualising anyone under 18, in messages, photos, videos or anything else shared in the app.
- Grooming: contacting or befriending a child in order to sexually abuse or exploit them.
- Sextortion, or threatening to share intimate images of a child.
- Trafficking, or arranging to meet a child for sexual purposes.
- Sharing, requesting or linking to any of the above.
Anyone who breaks these rules has their account removed permanently, and we report them to the authorities.
2. Spontaza is for people aged 16 and over
- You must be at least 16 to use Spontaza. Everyone confirms their date of birth when they sign up.
- If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 16, we delete it.
- Spontaza is built around groups of people who already know each other. There is no public feed, no browsing or matching with strangers, and groups and plans are invite-only. Live location (Echo) is only ever shared with a group you chose, for a time you set.
3. How to report a concern
In the app: you can report a person or a message directly, from their profile or by pressing and holding the message, and block them at the same time.
By email: write to support@spontaza.comwith "Child safety" in the subject. You don't need a Spontaza account to report.
If a child is in immediate danger, call 999 in the UK (or your local emergency number) first. You can also report child sexual abuse material directly to the Internet Watch Foundation, or report online sexual abuse to CEOP, the National Crime Agency's child protection command.
4. What we do when something is reported
- We review every report, and treat any child safety report as our top priority, within 24 hours at most.
- Content that breaks these standards is removed, and the account responsible is permanently removed.
- We report child sexual abuse material and child sexual exploitation to the relevant authorities, including the UK's National Crime Agency, and cooperate with law enforcement investigations as the law requires.
- Where the law requires it, we preserve the relevant information for investigators.
5. The law
Spontaza complies with the child safety laws that apply to it, including the UK's laws on indecent images of children and the Online Safety Act 2023. These standards apply everywhere in the app: chats, plans, photos, diaries, calls and profiles.
6. Child safety contact
Our designated contact for child safety, including questions from authorities, is Panagiotis Nikolaou, at support@spontaza.com.
